Default brakes and brakepads?

I just bought a 05 roadster and i need to put new brakes and rotors into it. I have been reading here and there but do not know what to get. Slotted or regular and stuff.

What do you guys recommend? and where to get them from and cheap lol. I don't have alot of money since i spent all my chunk of savings on this hah..

A lot depends on what you're going for (looks, performance, OEM replacment) and how you drive (everyday, autocross, track or show). Assuming you're looking for everyday use...

Don't waste your money on slotted or drilled rotors. Plain old rotors are still the best thing for everyday use. Centric has some reasonably priced, good OEM replacment rotors.

Pad - Endless, Project Mu have good street pads. If you're on a tight budget, you can always get quality pads from your local auto parts store.

i dont wont to get pads from like autozone, i just cant afford brembo quality stuff if you know what i mean.

i use it for everyday but i tend to drive fast and sometimes break hard and stuff so regular oem still be good?

i want some looks though also since i will be adding a body kit and its a black roadster

The entire forum is about brakes. Great reading.

Going for bling? Slotted or drilled or both.
Performance? Regular rotors.

For everyday driving, the high-end pads from a place like Autozone, Pepboys, etc. will suffice. There's a big gap between those and "Brembo" quality. If you want premium pads, try the Endless or the Project Mu pads. There are also companies like Axxis, EBS and Hawk.

Braking hard on the street still falls under the "everyday use". It's nothing compared to track driving where high temperature pads would be required.

BTW - you could easily spend $500 to $1000 for rotors and premium pads.

Personally, I'd prefer slotted rotors. Power Slots are reasonably priced, and last you long enough. Cross drilled are great for performance, but they'll break down very quickly. Standard rotors last the longest, but they don't brake as well, or look nearly as good.

Before you put too much stock in that claim, you might want to read through this thread....

I like things easy. I have brembos, so i researched everything pretty in depth before i bought rotors and pads (because everything is FUKIN EXPENSIVE!!!). I have Hawk HPS Street Pads with the Brembo Slotted rotors (only because they were cheaper than the OEM). you wont notice s*** if you get slotted rotors. Normal rotors are fine unless you want that extra bl*ng (or your constantly on the track).
Hawks are excellent pads, but they do not brake well when cold (big deal, just pump the brakes a few times when leaving the driveway and your good). other than that, I say get-m. They arnt that expensive, and they brake well.
I have also noticed a lot less fade and brake dust from the Hawks. I highly recommend them!
As for the web site, www.tirerack.com. Shipping was cheaper than the smaller sites. It only cost 25 bucks! the rotors and pads also arrived in 3 business days. Prices are low as well.
Here is a link:

on a personal note, I hate you. I have to spend 400 for one pair of "ok" rotors. you can get race rotors for 150. You suck!

Keep in mind that i have the brembo brakes. Just because it works for brembos, dosn't mean it will work for the normal calipers. Do the research, never base your whole decision off any response to any forum.

On a side note, if you do get the pads, do not blame me when they suck right outa the box. It takes time for them to bed in, and they suck untile they are bedded in. I recommend taking your car to a shop next to a good stretch of road that you wont get in trouble for stopping randomly.
