Default anyone thought about cutting stock springs.

i was thinking about getting my springs cut to lower my car a little more than an inch.....has anybody done this before and wha are your opinions on it?

Just get Springs... No need to see a Z bouncing around on the streets.

You have to be kidding me! Sell the car if you have even considered this option...Honestly...thats about the best advice I could give you.

It will RUIN the ride and persformance of the car. Period. If you HAVE to go cheap, pony up for some cheap spings. DO NOT cut or heat compess your springs.

cutting springs is for civics and neons
like garage seal front lips.

im on a real small budget.....i was thinkin under $350

Also search for other sites

Read through specs on some springs, look over prices, come up with a couple options that you like. Then come back here and search this site for reviews on the springs you picked out. If there are no search results, post up a new thread asking about that particular spring. Almost all springs made for the Z have some form of feedback on this site already.

LOL at this thread!

Check with Z1 Performance. They have several spring sets available for around $200. I personally would only replace springs with shocks, but you aren't me

^^^ The TVS is what I am getting too, plus Tokico D-SPECs; price/value ratio for the package is impossible to beat.

Wait till youy have a higher budget. Or look for used stuff. Your stock struts will work fine for a few thousand miles, then the struts will need replacement. I suggest tokico D specs at that time. Used Tien basics may also work great for you too. Going rate is around $600, springs and struts all in one.
Oh i forgot , your also going to need another $400+ in suspension arms to get the alignment right.

then you might consider saving up for doing the job right, not resorting to ricer tactics that will cost you more in the long run
