Default replacing break pads

how much do they usually charge at dealerships to replace all 4 break pads? i got quoted about 500 because they said they had to do something with the rotors also... can anyone give me a reasonable price? or does 500 seem right? i have no idea on the cost of replacing them..thanks

they r probably talking about cut da rotors, cuz u gettin new pad.

it's depends on ur rotors condition. u can check at SEARS auto center, or local shop.

but 500 bucks is too high.

500 bucks u can upgrade New rotors and PAD ( NON- Brembo)

That sounds about right. They are charging you for the pads, resurfacing the rotors (or more likely replacing them, at least in the front), and labor.

replacing the rotors is more expensive than just having them turned (resurfaced)..... a lot of times you can get them turned and remain in spec.... but they will lie to you and say they have to be replaced for safety sake... nissan is notorious for this..... our stock rotors are soft and do wear fast... but they will bend you over if they think they can get away with it.... i had my stock rotors turned and have had no problems..... this spring i will most likely replace the rotors and pads... the price is about right for a dealership to replace all 4 pads, 2 rotors, and labor...

When I did brakes the first time, I bought slotted/drilled, painted calipers, decalled calipers, upgraded to ceramic pads. Spent around $350 to have it installed (painted myself). VERY pleased with results. www.wcsl.org/z for pix.

Do you have any interest to do this yourself? It's very easy.

I agree with the above guys. Just did all my rotors and pads this weekend. It was a real easy job. Look into the D.I.Y. threads. Saves you a bundle!
