Default Crack in piston dust boot on Stoptech caliper?

I bought a set of stoptech ST40 332mm BBK from a member on the forum and I noticed a crack in the rubber boot that holds the piston on 1 of the piston. Its cracked I'd say 75% all around the rubber boot (not sure if I'm using the correct terminology) and I was just wondering if this is something I should be really concerned with.

I'm not tracking the car or anything like that but want to make sure this isn't a problem I need to be concerned about. Thanks guys!

It's more of a dust shield. The more dirt/dust that gets in there, the quicker the wear and tear will be. I would assume you could purchase a new cover and replace the bad one. Try calling StopTech and checking.

Fairly common, they sell replacements here:
http://www.zeckhausen.com/StopTech/c...es.htm#Rebuild

I'm just about to rebuild my calipers to replace these seals myself...

Thats a cool site ----The Dust covers are not only for Dust and Dirt but also for moisture. A caliper piston has to remain spotless
