Default Someone said.. press on brakes, only fronts do the work.

Someone said that if you hit your brakes, the front brakes do the work and the emergency brakes use the rear...
I am no expert on brakes and never really even cared or paid attention to how they worked. Is this even true????

Wrong...approx 60 - 70% of the braking is done with the front brakes

you rev up a bit, dump the clutch, put your clutch foot on the brake pedal and keep pressings the gas. The front brakes will hold your car in place while the rear tires keep spinning. This is how it's done on RWD>

Rears work as well. Actually, they work really well on the Z. When I was breaking in my pads last year, I was getting the rears to chirp w/ the ABS along w/ the fronts. I'm very impressed w/ the balance of the Z brakes.
