ok so i recently changed my brake pads on my 03 350z non brembo. When i got the pads, two of the front pads had a bendy, flexy, clip on the side and i didnt know what it was, and to this day i still dont but i have an idea.
I was driving my Z doin roughly 50 onto an exit ramp and while takin the turn, not applying gas or brake, the traction control kicked in and if it wasnt for that id be sideways, sorta like abs locked up.
I was told that metal clip on the pad is suppose to be something to make the pad kickback from the rotor if you dont apply the brake
any ideas on how i should set up those pads or what the problem is or any experience it?
my brake fluid is full and everything works fine, no noise nutting....just that scary experience every time i take sharp turns, very scary.
please let me know.....thanks

To what I know the clip is to make a squeaky sound to remind you that you are at the end of the pad life.
As of lockup, it is possible that you have too much pad thickness up front when compared to the rear, which makes your front brake to brake much earlier than the rear.
In either case, any car from the factory is designed with at least some front brake bias for stability, you should be okay.

Sounds like stability kicked in for a sec, could be the front or rear tires broke loose, or his staggers are off causing it to happein at a different than normal time.

im just worried because it happens whenever i wana take a sharp turn, but i am careful. im scared that it will happen while driving straight one day
should i just try to wear out the front brakes somehow a lil or...?
