Default Ebay Brake Kits Good Or......

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/NISSA...spagenameZWDVW

Need to order Brake Pads as my stockers are currently making a squeaking noise due to being low.

My question is do I have to get new Rotors as well, or am I fine with just replacing pads? Also I love how long the OEM Lasted but I didn't love the amount of brake dust they thru off.

What would you guys recommend Full Ceramic, Semi Metallic and what brand. Also I posted a link to an eBay item I was looking at. Opinions welcomed.

Posi Quiet pads are made by Centric Parts. Centric owns Stoptech, Powerslot, supplies rotors for Rotora, etc.

Those are probably Centric blank rotors too. Rotorworks and r1concepts are known to use Centric for their stuff. They would have been machined afterwords for slots and holes. Centric doesn't sell them like that.

As for new rotors, no one here is going to be able to tell you whether you need new rotors or not. If you're going to do the pads though, you might as well do it all at once.

I got a set from irotors off ebay. The posi quiet pads are great. No noise, hardly any dust. The car stops great when I need it to. I have had my rotors on since late june and they are holding up just fine.

Of all the parts you can go cheap on, brakes is prolly the last.

Brakes are incredibly simple though, so unless your tracking your car you probably don't need to spend too much money. Sure you want to be careful and not get something of really poor quality, but for just replacing OEM stuff with something slightly better and for looks, some of this e-bay stuff works just fine.

I got some rotors and pads off ebay and they are quite good, work great for daily driving and autocrossing. But I would definatly spend more money and get some high quality stuff if I was tracking the car.

what he said. Stopping is one of those things you just want to happen, when you want it to happen.

prove that and I'll bite. Brakes are a thing that I wouldn't take that chance on unless your proven to be correct.

I'm not a label *****. I just like living.

He doesn't mean to say they are inferior, but that they could be.

What's there to prove that isn't already known fact? The OP posted a link to an ebay auction for pads and rotors. The pads are Posi Quiet pads. Posi Quiet is "made" (bought from a factory in "Asia") by Centric Parts. Centric Parts also owns Stoptech and Powerslot. It's no secret except to those to need to justify paying more than they should.

Ebay dealers such as Irotors and r1concepts are known and have admitted to using centric blanks as their platform for rotors. This is why they also usually sell Centric brand pads bundled with their rotors.

Stoptech Sportstop rotors? They are just Centric Premium blanks machined with a Stoptech slotted design.

R1concepts (Ebay) Premium rotors? They are just Centric Premium blanks machined by R1concepts with their own drilled/slotted design.

Rotora Performance rotors? They are just Centric Premium blanks machined by Rotora with their own slotted design.

Im not saying all ebay stuff is good, but if you do your homework you can save a bundle. These ebay guys aren't making rotors themselves in their basements. Even if they wanted to, they would never be able to get the equipment. Even if they had the equipment, it would be cheaper to just buy them from a source. They just buy them from a company and rebrand them. They machine a couple cool slots on them and slap their logo on the box and call it a day. It's just some companies are better in making you think their logo means something more than the other guys.

Thanks for such a thorough explanation. This is what we need on the boards. Not just opinions but some hard facts. People tend to get so worked up about a name brand.

To the person who said I wouldn't compromise with Brakes. Your absolutely rite. I won't either, however I wont be spending 700 bucks just for rotors and pads. I went ahead and purchased a set of Posi Quiet pads from Z1Auto.com. I thought about the rotors to death, but figured I would just have my stock ones cut. My brakes are squealing and I just cant see waiting dam near 3 weeks for rotors.

So what are some options for Base owners to have good looking/efficient set of brakes?

I'm cutting my OEM Rotors, and putting on Posi Quite pads for now. Until I can get some more opinions on here.
