Default BBK Brake Bias

Just some food for thought but therre are three different brake bias's for the 350Z.

There is the 03-05 brake bias with the smaller rear brake. There is the 06-08 brake bias with the larger rear brake. And then there is the Brembo brake bias for all years with Brembo's.

If your just upgrading the fronts to a BBK like guys with the Brembo's like to do when they track their cars then it appears to me that the only manufacturer who offers all three front caliper brake bias's for the 350Z is Stoptech.

If you just upgrading your front brakes with Rotora, Project Mu, Endless, etc what brake bias match are you getting? Hmmmmm......

06-08 have the same rear brake caliper/rotor size. It's the front brakes that are larger than the 03-05

You can upgrade only the front to a BBK and use factory rear brakes with slotted or drilled rotors, SS lines, and more aggressive pads and it will be pretty neutral.

The OEM nonbrembo 03-05 brake pads are already pretty aggressive, not sure if you are going to be able to make enough rear bias shift from doing only these things

You can, it just really depends on what you have in the front.

don't forget as well that rotor size also affects overall bias, as well as pad compound - hell I bet even tire size and compound (and wheel weight and car weight/bias) plays a role as well when you really get down to it, so to say that all kits aside from Stoptech throw bias out the window is a bit over reaching IMHO. They are the only ones who market kits for specific models, yes, but that doesn't mean that such bias wasn't taken into account with similarly 'higher end' kits as well. It would be certainly interesting to see what the stock bias split is of various models, and then evaluate the bias ranges of other out of the box kits as well, but it would be alot of work to assemble all the data properly.

According to the sales brochures...

2005 (non-Brembo)
Front Brakes: 11.7"x0.95"
Rear Brakes: 11.5"x0.63"

2006 (non-Brembo)
Front Brakes: 12.6"x1.10"
Rear Brakes: 12.1"x0.63"

^You got me there.
Since they use the same rear pad, I assumed the rotor size was the same. You know what they say about though. I guess only the caliper is the same then. Crap the pre 06 rotors were small.
Thanks for clarifying.
