Default whats that clickin noise?!?!?!?

within the past cpl of days, i've noticed a weird noise comin from both sides of my rear wheel area, it only does it when i take off from a stop, its more like a tinging noise than a clickin noise, its like... ting ting ting...ting.. ting... and it'll do it every now and then when i slow down,

i've checked other threads that sound like this and i did what they say, break pads are fine and my wheel doesn't wiggle, what else could it be?... anybody else heard of this issue that knows something different????

search for axle clicking, that's what it sounds like from your description. I have the same thing, but I'm too lazy to fix it.

I think I have the same thing.
Only when going slow backing up or starting from a stop.
It is really annoying.
I am trying to get the time to look take the wheels off and have a look.
One friend of mine said he tried to find it on his Z but gave up.
I wonder how many that have this issue?

There was another thread just started about this. They said it's a TSB and the dealership should cover it for free no matter what. It's just lubing one of the joints....G/L my bro's does the same thing but like most he's too lazy plus the Top speed exhaust and 2 12" explodes in the trunk won't let something that small bother him!!!!

Technical bulletin. It means Nissan is supposed to fix it if you bring it in, but your results may vary.

lol, yes results vary depending on how nice your dealership decides to be to you. I guess the austin texas dealership's are no good they wouldn't fix mine 2 years ago.

No, TB means it's a known problem and they have a procedure to fix it so they don't waste a bunch of their time diagnosing it and throwing stuff at it until it's fixed guessing the whole time. Has nothing to do with warranty. That's separate but many TSB items are covered under warranty. They don't have to fix the click after warranty time - it's your problem then.

I had the same clicking noise, it could be your new tires on aftermarket rims. I installed new tires and I found that it was the guys who put the tires on that incorrectly that caused the problem. I went to another tire place to re-do it and now it rides like a new car.

the dealership wants to charge me 400 $$$$ to fix this problem! is it essential to get fixed or can i just ride it out? also my car is an 05 certified preowned and the said warranty doesnt cover it.

If it's definately the axle click noise, then no. Mine actually has gone back away for now. It was fixed under warrantly then came back and I just realized it's been quiet for awhile. I had a dealer tell me that as long as you are sure it's not a wheel bearing and it's still the dry axle spline that is making the noise you are going to be just fine - it's just a noise.
They are going to charge you $400 to pop the axle out, grease it and put the axle back in with six brand new bolts. So that's probably $100-$150 labor plus $300 for six bolts - $50 a bolt then, huh? I'd sleep on it
