Nismo S-tune suspension
Need help with information on the nismo suspension.
The suspension is suppose to lower the car 20mm in front and rear, about .75 inches.
I have searched forums and the internet and cannot find any good comparison pics. From the pics I have seen, it looks like the nismo does not drop the vehicle, espically in the front.
I have a stock 2008 z, and can only get 2 fingures barely in the front wheel wells, and barely over 2 fingures in the rear wheel wells. of course the rear has more camber, and if it is corrected it would be even or maybe a slight bit lower.
anyone out there with comparison pics, actual measurement, to show the actual drop of the s-tune suspension.

For as much as the suspension cost, and I am a total NISMO parts *****, there are better suspension systems out there. Look around unless you just have your heart set on Nismo..
its funny cause my friends here in the area just talked me out of the Nismo S-Tune.
I was considering the NISMO because I was going to have Nissan install it so it will be covered under warranty. Yeah, there may be better kits out..
I do not need an adjustable sytem or coilover, and the nicer kits are just as expensive. I can get the NISMO for $1000 new. I could go with some Bilsteins and springs for about the same. I really would not use the features on coilovers. Also, i do not want to drop more than an inch, because I do not want to deal with camber kits, etc.....

BTW, you should be able to get Bilstein HD's in the low $700 range, not $1000.

i just dug a bit deeper with this. seems NISMO made some versions of that kit with the KYB adjustables, but you see that mainly on the skylines and other models, not the 350Z
I put the complete Nismo Kit on my ZR and love it. I have a friend on here who also has a ZR and we compared. If you are looking for a big difference you will not see one but there is a difference. If you have lower profiled tires than stock the difference comes to light even more. Regardless of the drop my car handles much better than the stock suspension I had. I went with Hotchkis swaybars instead of the Nismos though.
If you are in need of the Nismos for cheaper, checkout the Nismo spring and strut kit on e-bay. I got mine from there and I paid 720 for the kit and found the swaybars on here. For about the same grand or better someone was saying the nismo kit cost you can have a very good handlig car for not a lot of money although that's relative. that kit is the s-tune, and i think that place did that as a onetime deal since you can't find a set new for less than 1400 on ebay
These are the closest comparison pictures I think I have. I tried to get the angles the same but they are only close. Some times I think you can hardly tell a difference and other times it is obvious. Get this suspension if you want to tighten up the handling and the ride of your car without having to put together a suspension on your own, not for an obvious drop. I am sure I saw more of a handling change than a Z owner would since the original suspension is a bit softer in dampening. Though I did not go the cheap route I am still very happy five months later.

A review I posted previously... Again, I am sure a skilled suspension tech could tune a coil-over system and end up with a better result for a specific desire but...I figured this was the plug-and-play system that would work and I am happy
I do not push my car around an interstate ramp like I do at Sebring because I am in public and there is no room for error on a ramp. I will say though that I did take a few of my local ramps at a comfortable fast pace after my alignment
The car is now even more sensitive to changes of steering angle. There is very little time between moving the wheel and the car reacting. Before you would have to wait as the weight shifted and the outer front tire loaded up before the car would turn...that has deminished greatly. On the other hand, the car does not react, or should I say over-react, so much to adjustments in the throttle. For example, you are taking an exit ramp spiritedly which has a decreasing radius and you lift the throttle slightly to tighten your line...or you are at the track midturn and the yoohoo in front of you brakes unexpectedly. With the oem suspension you feel the rear lighten up and start to rotate but it can be too abrupt at times if the suspension is near its limits. That sensation seemed more controlled yesterday on a local freeway ramp that has a decreasing radius. There is less squat under braking and hard excelleration. There is another ramp that goes from being a tight left hander then crests to a slight right hand bend as you merge onto the freeway. Before you could feel the rear get light as you transition from left to right while going over the crest...that feeling was also more controlled. Basically I am getting used to the stiffer ride and the spirited handling on the streets by my first impression...ROCKS!

I am currently looking for some springs that would lower the car about 0.25-0.50" (inches) more than the S-tune shocks that came on my Nismo. The only factor is finding a set of sport springs that match the spring rate (or very close to) of the S-Tune off my 2008 Nismo.
(From my recolection, the 2008 Nismo 350z's use off the shelf S-Tune suspension for the Z33 correct?)

See this thread,^ look at post number 18. Based on what the spring rates likely are, no aftermarket spring choices would make sense, making the slight increase in drop your after IMO a mute point. If you must drop the car more, invest in quality coilovers.
