Default Help with brake noise..

I went to dealership twice about it already, and they said I have perfectly fine rotors / pads.. but my car always makes light high pitch noises even when I first start my car in the morning and i'm rolling out, and it gets worse if my brakes get hot. They only make noises when i'm NOT applying the brakes though, is there anyway I can fix this w/o replacing pads / rotors? The sound goes away when I hit my brakes. Only passenger side seems to do it, and more so when I turn the wheel to the left.. I don't think they are worn wheel bearings because i've had this problem since 10k miles on the car all the way to 18k miles on the car. My car is only a year and three months old.. This is getting annoying especially since it only makes noises at low speeds (like when i'm parking or rolling through a parking lot).

Could my rotors be glazed?

Like a Doughnut?

Brake grease lightly on all metal surfaces which touch each other....if that doesn't work then new pads may be in order.

check for all the correct anti-rattle clips, shims etc.

if you jack the car up and spin each wheel do you get the sound?

James, what wheels are you on? I saw volk in your sig, but what model?

Call me koo koo, but I had a very similar noise when I was running Work
meister S1 3ps. The sound COMPLETELY VANISHED when I went to a
te-37 setup. I think that the brake setup was not ventilating properly
with the meisters in place... So, what type of volks? The te's have
tremendous clearance compared to the meisters...

yea they do slightly. My cars OEM brake system has never been touched. I guess the only way I can solve this is new pads, damn it.

You took it to the Dlr twice.....no telling what they've done....if anything.

I'd try brake grease first, and possibly new pads of different compound...

ya but dismounting all my pads and greasing up everything, I might as well buy new better pads since I already have nearly 20k on them. I'll run these till mid 20s or when I get too annoyed (whichever comes first). God damn it..

i dont understand how it would have to do with the pads/rotors if the noise is happening when youre not applying the breaks..........

but good luck and i hope you get it figured out.....

well, the brakes do touch the rotors slightly even though you aren't pressing them... I see what you mean though.

hence my suggestion to jack car up and spin wheels....if you can duplicate problem w/ your head next to the problem, its easier to diagnose

honestly my car does the exact same thing and I KNOW its the front passenger side. I have regreased everything still does it changed rims still does it and new brake pads STILL DOES IT!!!!!!!! i think it is the caliper bushings for some reason getting that slight motion of the pad touching the rotor when not braking may cause the caliper itself to move just a tad hence causing the shims 2 move acusing the noise just a thoery though. I hope to try it out this weekend cause it annoys the HELL out of me when im driving and when i hit the brakes it goes away very weird.

Found the culprit.. on the back of the brake pad and to the left are two little pin / flexible metal that can't be bent easily, and I guess one of them got bent. The bending caused the metal to rub against the rotor causing noises... bent it back a little bit and it's gone. I believe these are the things that cause the brakes to squeal when the pad life is low..

Interesting. Recently I have heard this same type of noise. A soft "clink." But it only happens when I start to move or when coming to a very slow stop.

The noise seems to be from the front passenger side. I did have it my local performance shop, but the owner said the noise is nothing new from Brembos because of the pins.

Any thoughts?
