Does this happen to other owners too? Stuck e-brake?

This morning I was backing out of the garage and my car is stuck. I have the e-brake up overnight. I did wash my car in the evening before turning in for the night. This morning I released the e-brake, put it in reverse, let the clutch go and gave it a little gas. Nothing happens. Imagine if you have the e-brake pulled up tight and tried to reverse, the car loads up but is not going anywhere.
I started tripping out but was already late for work so I just gave it more gas. Loud noise from the rear passenger side brake assembly, like breaking a bond between metal or something, then the the car drove and brakes fine as usual.
I know there's a thread long time ago on this and I just read it. It didn't seem like the guy's Z was stuck there. Sounded like his Z rolled away fine but mine was totally stuck.
Any info on this would be great. I was just assuming that is was the water or something that siezed up the e-brake in the rear?
Thanks people.
