the ebrake was really lose(i would pull all the way up in order to hold)now i adjusted it using the bolt adjuster under the cigarette tray and if i poll the ebrake while the car is moving i would hear a loud clicking noise although i adjusted it to 6 clicks and the hand brakes tight it doesnt hold.... inconclusion i bought some hawk pads for the rear and the front although i dont think the ebrake is tied to the calipar system but a drum system instead ??? that is my doubt can anyone help me please?????

pull your center console up and there is a 10mm bolt that has to be tightned up or you can pull your calipers and rotors and adjust it back there.

The parking brake is separate from your regular brake pads. Don't pull the parking brake while you are moving and that will solve the problem of the clicking. Parking brake drifting FOR THE LOSE.

In all seriousness though, my parking brake wasn't holding very well until I got pissed off at it and used it as a regular brake. I guess heating it up got the dust off of it or something. Now it grips pretty well. But, I still only use it for parking.

the problem isnt the clicking that doesnt bother me but there is definitly something wrong with it, i wasnt trying to drift the real reason was because one day i was on a hill and no matter how hard i pulled the hand brake it would not hold the car unless i put it on gear that is kind of scary... the fact that one day i might need to park on a real steep hill and not be sure that it will hold .. i ve had many manual cars before and never had this issue .....

Mine grips well now that I heated it up a little. It's a pretty simple device, a shoe and a smooth metal surface. Not a lot that can go wrong. I don't know why heating it up really well seemed to make it work better, but now it holds my car well. This parking brake definitely isn't the best I've ever had though.

Yes, the parking brake is a drum brake inside the rear rotor.

The next thing you should do is pull off the rotors and inspect the parking brakes. If a liner came off the backing plate, it would act as you describe. This can happen.

I have to yank mine up with so much force to get it to hold. I should probably look into fixing that.

mine is the same way. If I'm on any kind of incline, the ebrake won't hold. Drum brakes FTL
