there is no need to take them off, sand them with 600 grit sandpaper, apply either adhesive promoter or primer, paint, then clearcoat, next time search in the 350Z exterior/interior or brake section

I'd suggest not bringing any more attention to your baby brakes than absolutely necessary.

it can look tasteful given the right car but for most applications I'd rather see it painted black to hide them a bit better.

if the intention was to pretend like you have a BBK they have caliper cover-overs for that sort of thing - lol.

it depends on the caliber you are dealing with...a .22 is gonna require something way different than a .45

or you could search on brake caliper paint and save us all a worthless thread.

Always begin a rice thread with “My buddy..” or “My cousin...” You are learning well.

So, what size calibers do our brakes use? I may have to go to the gun show this weekend to reload. I didn't know my 350Z has the potential to be a James Bond-type car. BTW, where's the trigger mechanism? Is it in the shifter?

I painted the CALIPERS on my civic before and the fastest way to clean/sand them up is by using a drill with a steel brush. Use the hand steel brush for the parts where the rubber seals are located. Clean them good before primer, tape the parts you don't wanna paint i.e. brake fluid valve. Take your time and do light coats at a time or it will start dripping and fu@k everything up...

Heat gun, if you don't have one hair dryer helps with quick drying the paint's surface (not to dry the paint completely) so it won't start dripping. Wait atleast 3hours from primer to paint, and atleast 30mins. in between coats. Make sure there's no wind/dirt/dust flying around or it would look like complete crap... Good Luck and have fun...
