Default Brakes Squeaking-

hey guys, ive had my r tune pads for about 10,000 miles and they been squeaking for quite some time now, but recently the squeaking has gotten really bad. Ive had stocks, which squeaked, HAWKS which squeaked like a month later and now the r tunes. I had Rob at Z Garage in San Jose look at the brakes, and he suggested that since i dont track my car at all and not really into hamering away at the brakes all the time, i should just go back to the stocks. Honestly i dont track the car and i just want something decent that doesnt squeak. any suggestions.

I'm guessing that you don't brake very hard. You've probably built up glaze on the pad. Run it through some hard braking and get them good and hot. If that doesn't work, try a brake cleaner. Or do what I do, just turn up the stereo!

thats what Rob said at Z Garage. go around 80 and slam to about 40 at least once every couple of day.

dude, you need to 'bed' the brakes everytime you replace your rotors/pads.

go upto 50-60mph and brake hard. repeat 8 to 10 x without giving the brakes a chance to cool down.

not only it helps you get rid off the squeal but also preserves your rotors/pads longer.

Anti seize lubricant. This is what helped me out and also old brakes tend to do the squealing. I had my 03 touring with original brakes and just changed them last week with OEM's again. Almost 6year old brakes (30k miles)and still had 40% left in the rear and 20% up front. I had no more lubricant left on the brakes so they squealed like my GF does when we are in bed. Just like a piggy
