Default Vdc and slip light

HEY GUYS I RAN INTO A PROBLEM THAT STARTED ON SATURDAY. MY VDC AND SLIP LIGHT CAME ON AFTER DRIVING THE CAR FOR LIKE 25 MINUTES ON THE ROAD. THE CAR FEELS FINE ALSO WHEN I CHANGE GEARS. THE LIGHTS STAY ON BUT ONCE I TURN OFF THE CAR AND RESTART IT THEY TURN OFF. DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT IT COULD BE?

Happens to me also and I'm running on stockers... I've been wondering why it does it as well. All I do is wait a day or so and the lights will turn back off.

The crank position sensor recall was for 03 models, OP has an 05 so that's not likely. That should cause SES/CEL light and throw car into limp mode, not VDC/SLIP.

If you're not getting a CEL/SES light, then there are probably no codes to be read.

Clarify one thing please - this is happening regularly, right? It wasn't a one time occurance.

Check your brake fluid level. If its low top it off. I would also get your brakes inspected as it may be time to service them.

It's definitely not normal for both lights to come on and stay on. It's basically a failure indication of the VDC system. The fact that it stays on till you turn the car off confirms that.

Here's what the manual says about that light combo...

When the vehicle dynamic control off indicator
light and slip indicator light come on with the
vehicle dynamic control system turned on, this
light alerts the driver to the fact that the vehicle
dynamic control system’s fail-safe mode is operating,
that is the system may not be functioning
properly. Have the system checked by your
NISSAN dealer. If a malfunction occurs in the
system, the vehicle dynamic control system
function will be canceled but the vehicle is still
driveable. For additional information, see “Vehicle
dynamic control (VDC) system” in the “5.
Starting and driving” section of this manual.

It certainly won't hurt to check brake fluid, brake pad wear and anything else brake related but usually, those problems result in the brake and ABS lights also lighting.

So they have to run some kind of diagnostics on the car dealing with the suspension then?

Not the suspension, they will check the brake system, VDC, ABS, etc. If that controller is bad, they should be able to find the problem.
