Do the stock brake setup on all Z's suck? Mine sure do!
I have an 04 Z touring, and just replaced the front and rear rotors/pads (Akebono) because I felt as if the car wasnt braking as fast and hard as it should. Since changing them, the car feels exactly the same. I'm scared to even push the car all that hard because if I need to suddenly brake, I'm gonna rear end somebody.
Is this just the way the car is? Or is something wrong with mine?
BTW: The emergency brake on my car doesnt work all that well either. It's been this way since I purchased the car. Can this be fixed or adjusted somehow?

Ya, 03-05 OEM brakes suck bawls, they are too small for the car imo. 06-08 they increased sizes i believe.
<----- looking for used OEM brembo or BBK setup for mine now.

newbs newbs newbs. the stock brakes on the Z are fantastic with the oem pads and with the system bled properly. the car stops on a dime with the stock system with lots of bite. for the track.. not so much but for daily driving they are more than adequate almost exceptional.
as for the parking brake they are adjustable take the rear wheels off and there is a black rubber grommet pop it off and stick in a screw driver and spin the little adjuster in there. or its alot easier if you just remove the disc + you"ll be able to see if the parking brake shoes are worn. as for the adjuster its on the top part im sure someone else can clarify as i know im being a bit unclear

Exactly. Then why would nissan increase size in 06 with no weight gain and a only SLIGHTLY more powerful engine...?

I’m sorry but what does re-bedding consist of, I’m assuming placing the pad in the corresponding rotor, but then again I was under the impression that there's really only one way to place them. Can you please clarify this for?
without luck I wasn't able to find anything useful with the search option.
Thanks

I went to Powerslot rotors, stainless steel lines, HP+ for the street and Motul fluid. Performance Friction Race pads for the track. They stop just fine. I will eventually go to a BBK in the future.
