^ Those look exactly like the eBay ones, except ridiculously overpriced. I have installed the eBay ones without issues and no problems at the autoX, either.

How do you know the one you posted is different from the one being sold on eBay? It looks same to me.

Ok, so maybe I should have worded it differently: Where's the proof that they're not the same things? There's just a picture and a pithy name, no description, no specs, not even a picture with a ruler. How do you know they've different lengths just from that picture?
I would assume that if they were indeed different (length-wise), as you suggest, it wouldn't look exactly the same as the ones I purchased from eBay.
edit - AcidJake75 has pictures of the ball joints taken during my install. Post 'em up, Jake!

SO.... Just had this problem too. It took me an hour alone to even figure out what the part name is that was busted... the steering knuckle ball joint.
Anyway, found a site that has the replacement part for $45 and no shipping.
Here is the link http://nissan-car-parts.macautoparts...oductInfo.aspx
Im gonna rent out the ball joint press from the auto store and see how this goes.

replaced my ball joint , here are some pix and how to vids:
tools you`ll need:
floor jack & jack stands
needle nose pliers
ball joint press (rent from autozone & advanced auto parts for $100)
ratchet or breaker bar..i think a 19 socket
may need ball joint separater
remove snap ring with needle nose :
unscrew top of balljoint and use jack to lift and separate control arm
use the balljoint separator to remove
how it looks on new ball joint:
out with the old
in with the new
good videos to use as reference :

Wow~ thanks a WHOLE lot guys! My ball joint went out a couple of days ago so like the idiot that I am I go to the Nissan dealership to see if they can replace it. They quote me 900$ plus labor! I literally laughed in the techs face and told him that I've been wiping my *** longer than he's been wiping his nose and that if he didn't give me the REAL price I'd just go somewhere else and make sure that everyone that I knew who drove a Nissan would too. He started stuttering and started to go off subject so I left. Anyways, a BIG thank you once again!

Ordered mine. Thanks for the writeup and the great videos. I'll be doing this job at home as well, so the more info i can get the better.
Any update with any of you that have purchased these and have them on your cars? How long as it been since you've installed them, and are they still holding up?
Thanks.

I've had mine for a while (half a year with maybe like 10K miles with some autoX) and it's been holding up great.

same prob, different car...
Hi
I have been trying to locate a clunking noise in my driver side, especially when I hit the brake...somehow the clunk reverberate through the pedal, I can feel it in my foot... I think it's a worn out bushing in the lower control arm, It doesn't do it when braking in reverse. Do you guys get a clunking noise when braking? it happens also when I go over a speedbump.
(been a member on g35driver for a while now... but maybe the answer to my issue lies in this thread so I signed up for your fine forums...)

^ That's what a few other members and I have. No problems so far and it's holding up nicely. I've been to a few autox events since the install and I drive mine in Chicago with lots of potholes and through the crappy winter here.
