Default Rubber Brake Lines

Has anyone heard of the rubber brake lines deteriating from the inside and causing calipers to "hang-up"?

I replaced the rotors and pads on the front of my Titan and now the new rotors warped within 2000 miles. The calipers seem OK as they compress easy when I squeeze them back in manually and the factory lines look OK on the outside. They did not stick before, just wore out from age. The hoses are not kinked or anything.

The rotors were Powerstop slotted and the pads are Kool Vue brand sold by the site I got the rotors.

Any help is appreciated.

Failure of rubber brake lines was possible 40 years ago, but with advances in rubber today's brake lines will last as long as the car.

Unless you track your car, but i doubt that is the case with his titan.

Its hard to read sarcasm....so I'm not sure if he is being sarcastic or not.

I work in the service department at a Lexus dealership. Just recently we came across a 1992 LS400 that the rubber lines began to fail from the inside out. BUT, that car has some 295k miles on it.

So, its possible. Just highly unlikely.

I could certainly see 20 year old brake lines deteriorating, especially if the wrong type of fluid was used in them or they sat out in extreme conditions for a long period of time. I can't imagine that happening on a newer vehicle.

What exactly do you mean by "causing the calipers to hang-up?"

I took his comment as one that falls under David's 1% of non sarcastic comments.

I mean that the caliper does not completely release and causes the pads to create a continueous heat and warps the rotor.

Thanks for all the input guys. I completely disasembled everything and could not find any "failed" parts/hoses. So I completely cleaned evey little part and lube the *** out of every slider and rail.

my cousin had the same problem with his titan. I'm not sure what exactly was causing him to warp rotors, but it was happening all the time. he said there was some sort of recall on it or something and the dealer fixed it. try researching it from that angle...

Yeah...the new Titans have bigger brakes and from what I understand they don't have the problem anymore.

The recall for my truck consisted of rotors made of a better grade metal and the original warping issues everyone had was from a longer time then 2000 miles. I think I just got junk rotors from "Powerstop". In my opinion, any rotor should last longer then 2000 mile unles something else is obviously wrong.

BTW the online company I bout the first set of parts from was discountbrakes .com. I am currently waiting for a refund to go back into my account for the parts that are already delivered to them. (tracking confirmed via FedEx)
And the "sold" my account information to some coupon web site that started charging $12 a month to my account. I caught it and called the coupon company immediatly demanding that they refund the $12 and never touch my account again.
