Default Underbrace

I saw this at tanabe's website http://www.tanabe-usa.com/underbrace.asp

Has anyone ordered these. I was wondering if there's any huge difference. maybe noticeable on stock suspension or what not.

Same thing as the GTSpec 4 point tunnel brace.

Search "GTSpec 4 point brace" and you'll find what you are looking for. More people run that brand, so you may have better luck.

Looks like the Tanabe version is less expensive (198.00) than the GT Spec(344.00) piece according to their respective websites. They appear to mount in the same positions. I would compare the material they use and if there the same, save your money and go with the TANABE.

Both the Tanabe and the GT Spec are mounted in different places.

....Regardless....they are both tunnel braces.

Structural rigidity is the point here, not so much mounting points as long as they are mounted in similar positions at the beginning of the tunnel.

not the same actually, they attach in different places - and the Tanabe hangs ridiculously low (GT Spec limits clearance as well, but not nearly as much as the Tanabe)

OP- if your suspension is otherwise stock, start with swaybars

I have both the Tanabe and GT spec 4 point. Stick to one of them. Gt Spec has better clearance, as Z1 said. Tanabe protects those expensive HFC's better.

i have both... the gt spec mounts towards the rear, and the tanabe is right in front of it. if you do get both, you have to flip the nut with the tab for the gt spec so it's completely in the frame. you'll understand if you get both.

the gt spec ties the frame together, and the tanabe ties the fram with the inner link of the front lower control arm to the frame.

get sway bars first like the other posts said... you will feel the most difference with those, unless you push your car all the time with city driving.

i am currently not running the tanabe because i only have about an inch of clearance from the ground with that on... the gt spec gives me like about a 2 to 2.5 inch clearance. also, for where the gt spec mid brace is mounted, you will hit the damn thing often on moderate driveways if your car is lowered an inch or more.

gives awsome stiffness. but you need other suspension goodies to feel the full effects. oh, also also get some adjustable shocks/coilovers, being too stiff on stock shocks really sucks, if you hit bumps in a hard turn, you actually will lose traction and the car will "skip".

I wonder if these would also double in protecting my skirts somewhat...

maybe take the brunt of a hit and keep skirt just clear of it if brace hangs lower than skirt....
