Default Bigger rotor upgrade for OEM Brembo's?

Hey guys,

I'm looking for a budget brake upgrade for a Track 350Z with the OEM Brembo's.

Personally I think the calipers are fine.. Only the rotors are on the small side..

For the Z32 they sell brackets for the calipers so you can use them with bigger rotors..

Are there kits like that for the Z33? I've checked the website of some wellknown shops but couldn't find anything like it...

Thnx!

I haven't seen any, probably because the OEM Brembos work fine in their current configuration. Anybody wanting "bigger", usually opts for a aftermarket BBK.

Check out the chart at the bottom of this page...

http://www.zeckhausen.com/testing_brakes.htm

As you can see, the Stoptech 355mm kit, is over 30mm larger than the Brembos, but the stopping power is not that much better. It does do a better job of heat management. So unless you are seriously racing your Z, larger rotors aren't going to do much good. If you are seriously racing it, then you want a aftermarket BBK anyway.

I've never seen brake brackets to utilize larger diameter Z33 Brembo rotors, either. Consider the increase in unspung weight with such an 'upgrade".

I would use 2-piece rotors with the aluminium center.. That might even lower the total weight of the rotor compared to the stock ones..

^^^Two piece Brembo replacement rotors would certainly be an upgrade, just be prepared for the price. They are not cheap.
