My cars sounds like an UPS truck. Really bad squeaking brake. Making an appointment today with Nissan. Bur curious what could this be? The car is a 2009 and only has 7,000 miles on it

I thought they stopped making the 350z in 2008.

Sounds like you need brakes.

Roadsters were made as '09 models.

But new brakes after 7,000 miles? That seems crazy. Also just had the car inspected a couple of weeks ago. Can't imagine it would pass if needed new brakes a couple of weeks later.

Also they are the Bremba brakes if that makes a difference.

There are so many things that could be causing it.

Brake dust - a build up of dust, common with OEM pads can cause squeeling.

Worn out pad - a bad could be dragging and worn down prematurely cause you to be at the wear indicator.

Your driving habits may be bad - riding the brake, hard stops, etc. Those could all wear the pads prematurely.

A lot more info is required to make a good, accurate guess. Otherwise somebody at the dealer who actually looks at the car will certainly have a better chance of telling what's the matter.

Ceramic brake compounds don't squeel as much as metallic and semi-metallic brakes do. Different pads squeel more than others on the same car. You're right that the majority of cars brakes don't squeel, that doesn't mean that it SHOULD be true for all cars.

High performance pads squeel like crazy but mine don't, maybe I'm doing something special to mine to minimize it

Hey my 05 with Brembo's has a nasty right rear sqeal right now. After checking the pad life they are in great shape. I noticed the noise when it became cold here in Florida, but I do have my windows up and music going usually. I think the cold weather might be adding to the intensity some, but not 100%. I will be finding the remedy and I will post here. Most likely glaze buildup, we will see.

If it's a street car, put some posi quiet pads in the back and call it a day. I went through 3 different types of pads before I "searched" and found the posi quiet pad fix. Problem solved.
