Hotchkis springs on stock 18s
yeah, i don't know bro. i wouldn't do it. the earlier wheels were different offsets than the later ones. that much of a drop and you might rub--although i have never seen it done.
Fits fine, no rubbing, just the damper rates are not designed for those springs. They have the proper spring rate for the 04.5 and older shocks. I would find better springs. Cobb springs are perfect if you can find a set.

The shocks are designed to slow down the motion on the springs/movent of the suspension. Shocks are set up for the spring rate of the spring they are to be used on, The spring rate of a 04.5 and new is somewhere are 450 where the Hotcshkis spring are only around 330 in the rear. They are badly mismatched, and undo everything that nissan did to remidy the handling problem with the older Z's.
harder. Just order the Cobb spring from Fontana Nissan, they may still have them in stock. There are other better springs available that are much better matched to the shocks you have. Hotchkis springs are great for the their time, but well out dated now. Don't go backwards, step forward.
i have hotchkis springs on my car now. i dont have my 18s on anymore but i used to have aftermarket 18s on with the hotchkis springs for a little while. this picture isnt the greatest but it gives you kind of an idea...
