Default Odd noise from coilover

Last friday i did an oil change and i usually only jack up the passenger side front since im skinny enough to squeeze under. I do try to jack it up pretty high tho. Well ever since then my driverside rear coilover has been making a loud clunk noise over any bump. I havnt jacked the rear up yet to see what exactly is wrong. Has anyone else had this happen before? Im hoping something is loose and its a easy fix but idk. Im almost positive its my coilover cause it feels a little more bumpy when hitting bumps in the road and it kinda feel like the strut is hitting the strut tower really hard. BTW i have Stance GR+ True Coilovers. Any input or help would be greatly appreciated.

Worse comes to worse it has only been like 7 months so i am still under Stances 1 year warranty and ill have to thro my springs back on for a week or 2 till it gets replaced.

I have the same problem with my AL+. I've tried many of the fixes that I have found on this site to no avail. I have recently e-mailed Stance to see if they have a fix or at least an answer regarding this issue because it seems to be widespread enough (just do a search for Stance knocking on this site). Maybe someone can chime in and let us know if they've had any luck regarding this annoyance. I'll update as well if Stance ever e-mails me back.

so, you drain "some" of your oil with "only" the passenger side raised up???

If i remember right, the drain is on the passenger side????

I was wondering if someone would call him out on the oil changing skills.

I figured he already had an issue to deal with on the coilover and wasn't going to blast him on this.

The coilover sacrificed itself to lubricate the ball joint and bushings.

lol i was just reading that today J... i thought it was just a loose bolt but unfortunatly not.. whats weird tho is when i put it in the garage for the weekend it drove perfectly fine then backed out of the driveway and it started making that clunk noise.. worst bump i have hit is 95 bridge dips or whatever they are called

How the heck did oil manage to make it to the fender wall like that. Normally oil just weep's past the piston shaft seal or past the adjustor seal. If I were Stance I'd be very curious to top the damper off with oil and repressurerise and see where it leaks (IIRC they do not service what they sell however).

I've had a blown coilover before and the air blew the oil inside the fender well and lubricated all my ball joints, bushings, and seals just like the OP's

The strange thing is that I don't have any oil like that in my wheel well but I still have the really bad knocking sound. Is it possible for it to be blown without the oil leaking out? The noise is pretty bad and I don't see any other possible sources of where it could be coming from other than the shock. Would it be best to put on the stock suspension until I can figure out what the hell the sound is? Also does anybody know if Stance sells individual coilovers?
