Default Need help, both front lower arm bushings blown.

Hi guys I have an issue that i need to solve soon because it's making my car ride like crap, also it is a safety issue as well. I had my car checked today for a noise that sounded like a clanking or something loose every time i drove the car, especially when i braked it sounded a lot. My mechanic had it checked and he said they were the 2 lower arm bushings from the front of the car that were gone and needed replacement. I proceeded to ask to see how much were they and he told me that i needed to purchase the whole arm because the bushings are not sold by themselves. I was wondering if this was true??? or could i buy separate aftermarket bushings?? Please let me know guys.

Stock ones aren't but whiteline and SPL make aftermarket bushings for them that you can buy separately.

buy the whitelines. a shop with a press can replace them fairly easily. i would guess they would charge you 3 to 4 hours of shop time.

there is no better nor worse, they are different products, at completely different price points, for different customers

I just orders the whiteline lower control arm kits today, I've got the usual busted inner bushing. SPL's are awesome, but I got the whitline kit for the price of 1 side of SPL. I only track my car a few times a year, so urethane bushings are good for me.

Damn I wish I would have known these were in when I ordered my inner bushing. Didn't see a shipping cost just for control arm bushing is it free?

Here is how to replace it.....if you dont have a shop press, then you can remove both arms and simply hand carry them to a local shop and pressing the old out and press the new ones in can most likely be done for cheap........discuss price prior to handing over the arms of course. dont let them shout out a price after its done.
