Default ABS, SLIP & VDC lights always on.

What's up people. I have recently had a problem with my ABS, SLIP and VDC lights all being on all the time. The problem started out of no where one day when I started my car.

For those of you having the same problem, I thought I would do a quick write up for you.

I just got my car back from Nissan, they claimed that the lights are all due to a bad brake switch. This switch is located on the back of the brake pedal and is activated upon pushing the brake.

Lucky for me this is a cheap fix. The part cost just $50 bucks "Through Nissan" you can find it much cheaper else ware. So check this switch if you seem to be having similar problems.

Other possible problems I have come to find, are bad or no tire pressure sensors. If your sensors go bad or you remove them, this could cause the Z to through codes.

Hope this is a help to someone out there.

Thanks for the info. I have the same problem with the VDC slip lights. They come on after about 10 minutes of driving and wont go away till the car is shut down and cooled off. Then the same thing again. So I will be checking it for the sensors and switches and see what happens. Thanks...

I have 245/35/19 in the front and 265/30/19 in the rears (streched) I was told that this may be why the lights come on since the tires are not the same size (35 and 30). I will be changing the rears for a set of 275/35/19.

There is no "may" about it, its your problem. 265/35 will still be just as stretched just with the taller sidewall you need. 275/35 is the common tire for your setup.

OP - this is usually due to pads running low if all three light up for no reason and you haven't done anything to your tire sizes. I had this happen the first winter I had my car, took it in and my rear pads were on their way out. Check this first.

Ok, thanks. I am hoping like hell this is the problem. Im going to get the Nitto NT-05 275/35/19 since I have Nittos in the front. My car shuts down when the lights come on at a stop. I bought the car with the set up and since then I replaced the front rotors that were worn down bad, pads, clutch, clutch line, flywheel among other things.

I'm going to be changing the rear brakes also since I've already did the fronts.
