Default Front Clunk Noise over small to large bumps after SPC A Arm and BC coilover install

Car: 07 350z Grand Touring with 19x10 in back with 265 35 19 and 18x9 in front with 245 45 18 in front(stock 07 GT rims and tire size). Ok so I have done the search so please dont flame me and say to do so. My problem is that Im trying to find a clunking noise that happens in the front on both the drivers and passenger side over bumps such as man holes and road variations(mostly found when road meets bridge and there is a bump). The background is I had a shop install BC Coiliovers and SPC A Arms with approximate 1" drop in front and 1.5" in rear(and yes they installed SPC toe kit in the rear and had car aligned, even did fender roll in the back). So the shop spent a couple hours checking torques and still found nothing. Then we put ONLY the front shock setup back in and clunk was gone. Now BC is being cool and is checking their shocks for problems, but beyond this any ideas. I looked in fender well and only thing I could find or feel is in the pictures. Obviously something hit metal to metal to make this mark (Circled) but is this something caused by the A Arm not clearing correctly and why. Or could this be caused by a defective shock (keeping my fingers crossed this is it). I did do a push test on shocks before sending them back to BC and it rebounded correctly from what I was told.

You need more shock body length, the shock is just fine. Or clearance the metal slighty to keep it from hitting.

To understand, you on "clearance the metal" is to bend the tab over on the under body out a little. And on the shock body length, on the BC coilovers you adjust height by adjusting the lower body which in meaning by what your saying is that I have gone to low with these coilovers at 1" maybe 1.5". Im not trying to slam car but that would seem like not alot since others with BC Coilovers have gone lower without problems I believe. And also with SPC A arms.

i have the same a arms with tein basic dampers. i am also essentially lowered the same amount as you. My car makes the same noise. I hate it and I dont know of a way to fix it other than bend the metal or beat it with a hammer. It seems that I need shocks with a higher rebound so I dont have so much compression. This clunk is a common problem with the SPC arm design. If anyone has solved this problem, hopefully they will chime in.

Yeah I read that some earlier versions had problems but the last post I could find with that was on 09 I think so I thought the new versions wouldnt have that problem. Its sounding like either I have to bend metal or fab a stopper of some kind. Or it may be a shock height or even spring related issue. Taking a educated guess but would a stiffer spring possibly stop this and maybe thats why some people dont have this issue. Yes it would be harder ride but that clunk is annoying when you have a nice ride. Besides going to SPL(and would this be a 100% fix), I would appreciate input from people who have had this issue and fixed it and how.

Great advice and the other beat or clearanced the area for the arm.

I just recently installed coilovers and I'm hearing a clunking noise on the front passenger only when going over bumps. I had spc camber arms and it wasn't making any noise. Currently I have oem control arms and coils. I'm going to retighten all bolts when I get back next week. Is the clunking noise y'all hear sounds like loose parts?

Topic went this direction: https://my350z.com/forum/brakes-and-...rs-vs-spl.html. Found things with a lot of getting my head under the fender and then following JasonZ advice.
