Default Front swaybar endlink problem

Tried to install my Whiteline front swaybar but there seems to be a small bracket-like on the endlink

Picture below will show what i mean:
<img src="http://img148.imageshack.us/img148/7779/endlink2.jpg" alt="" border="0">
<img src="http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/6349/endlink.jpg" alt="" border="0">

This is preventing me from installing the front sway. Question is, how do i take it off?

That "bracket" keeps the ball stud from turning as you tighten the nut that holds it in place. I don't think you should remove it.

loosen the bolts holding the sway up, not all the way out that should be enough, also if your using a runway lift your tires need to be off the ground

entire front of car needs to be off the ground.........and remove the front tires as the weight of the tires hangs the suspension down that it makes it hard for installation as it droops everything......

also, the tires hanging isnt good on any of the inner bushings on both lower control arms either....premature tears occur..

there is nothing wrong with your endlinks......but if you have one tire on the ground, and one side of the car up in the air trying to install endlinks IS NOT gonna happen!! sway bar is doing its job and pulling the translink(lower control arm) away from you..

thats been answered! in order to tighten the nut onto the endlink stud, it keeps the stud from spinning.....you need it with STOCK endlinks..

just bolt it up and be done...

orient the L part of it fwd push the stud through the endlink and put the nut on and tighten!

When I installed my Hotchkis I had to bend the tab part. I think it even mentions this in the instructions.

Thanks Jason for being patient and forgive my ignorance

I measured the space between the stud and the bottom of the tab, it doesn't look like it will fit my Whiteline bar. I measured the distance between the hole and the edge of the bar, closest edge being the top of the bar...

Does that make sense? We're talking about 2-3mm difference. Like i understand why the bracket is there, just don't see my Whiteline bar fitting underneath the tab

How do you bend it back? With pliers?

When I installed my Hotchkiss bars I clamped the end-links in a vise and just gave those brackets a little tap with a big hammer. Only needed a few mm of clearance, like you, and as you tighten the nuts on the endlink stud, the bracket will bend a bit more on its own, if it needs to.

IIRC, on the 350evo sway bars, the instructions called for flipping the endlinks upside down (i.e. the end you're having problems with should be attached to the chassis instead). See if that solves your problem.

If that doesn't work, you could either bend the tabs, as mentioned, or install aftermarket endlinks.

as stated, hotchkis states to bend that little tab up and away. I used a pair of pliers and it worked fine. The stud still tightens down fine and check it every time you change your oil safety sake. My guess is that is what you have to do. But listen to the other tips the other guys gave you too on the install to make sure it all goes up right the first time. Now get to work on that car
