Default low wheel offset = brembo caliper rub?

Does anyone have some low offset +17 wheels with their Brembo's and if so, what type of wheel and how much clearance do you have. Trying to calculate if my brembo upgrade will work with my front rims, +17 offset 9" RH C4's. Might have to change the fronts to +22.

thanks,

Mark

+17mm would stick out further than +22mm. My 8.5" front Nismos with +25mm work just fine with the Brembos, with room to spare. With +17mm you should be just fine.

Looking at the rim and the space, i think the brembo's will fit, since the rotors aren't that big on the stock brembo's. Vegastoy, do you have the exact dimensions as my racingharts? 19x9 19x10 17mm on both front and rear? The reason i'm asking is another member asked me if the racing harts fit because a racing hart vendor told him he needed to get 26mm fronts and 22mm rears for the track edition. It sounded to me like the vendor wanted to sell off that set instead of ordering him the 17mm's. I know the 26F and 22R will work for sure though. But thanks Lou, i think they will work with these rims too, just thought a lot of other members have the exact same setup on here so i thought it's worth asking.

offset isn't what matters here, its pad height (the distance from the back of the spokes to the mounting surface). As long as the wheel has a thick pad, you will be alright. (actually, its pad height, lip size and spoke design)

Thats why 9" enkei rpo2j's with a +35 fit, and rpf's with the same specs don't.

Hey Joe,

i didn't know that was you. I just looked on your sig and it said racingharts so i thought you were someone else that had them already. Anyways, i sent Dazz Motorsports an e-mail too, so when i find out, i'll let you know.

Default thanks 2003z

you know, thats what i thought too. I thought the centers were all made the same so if you had a RH C4 with 32mm offset, it would have the same hub size and spokes as the 17mm offset rim. So for that type of rim, if one offset fits, it should fit for the other is what i thought. Well, i'm getting my brakes pretty soon, so i hope it works.

I'm considering purchasing some HRE 19" wheels.

They are 19x8.5" front (+18 offset) and 19x9.5" rear (+18 offset). Does anyone know if these will clear my factory Brembos?

I read the above posts but I'm still a little foggy about calculating clearance.

Thanks

Baumer,

check #4 below, it's like 2003z said, it's the pad height or the space between the inner spoke and where the hub touches the rotor. Unfortunately the HRE site doesn't show any specs for it's wheels.

you can also cut out the template from stoptechs site and see if those fit, as long as you find a vendor with the wheel you want in stock and try the template on it.

The best bet is call the company HRE or the vendor and have them call HRE to see which rim will fit or get the caliper clearance from them.

Default bad news joe

Joe,

Dazz Motorsports, the distributor here says you have to get 26mm offset for the front, 22, or 17 for the rear. It gotta be really close though, because it looks like it would fit, but i'll have to buy 2 new rims now. I really don't like the flat look so i hope it's not too bad with a +26mm offset. The really deep dishes were cool while they lasted. Anybody want to buy 2 fronts?? Give you a good deal haha .

Default front lip is about half of what i have now

It's not going to be ugly, but with a +26mm it's going to have about 2" lip now so it's going to have a lot flatter look to the front. Damn, can't they make thinner calipers??

My car has a 21 front (on 8") and 28 rear (on 10") offsets, rear lip is 4", front is 2", and everyone who has seen it and commented, loved the look.

Default staggered look?

2003Z,

you mean the staggered look? yeah, i like how your rims look, they look good like that. Mesh rims i think look better deeper dish, but i seen a pic from a racing hart ad that had the 26mm fronts and it's not as bad as i thought. It just hurts when i think about having to fork out another 1200 for rims though.

Joe,

thanks for the scanned pic. Yeah, you know that picture doesn't look bad at all. It looks like someone zaino'd 100 times or something its so shiny. But yeah, the staggered look on that pic doesn't look bad there. I seen another picture of the same rim with the center practically flush with the edge and i didn't like it at all. Other cars all have the staggered look too like some of the porsches and nsx's and other high performance cars. Well i want the brembo's so I'm ordering my new fronts soon. You should order your rims soon too, if they run out it takes like over a month to get them in like my first set did. Anyways, thanks for the heads up on the brembo's i guess the vendors are correct in this case.
