You can get Stoptech's for 1700 new...I would spend a few hundred more and get those, or just wait until someone is selling their BBK.

Also how big of a difference am i looking at between a 4 piston and a 6 piston BBK? Im assuming the extra inch on the 14" rotors is a lot better then the 13" rotors... any advice is appreciated...
With AP Racing, there are four levels of front kits available and 2 different rears. Talk to the guys at Stillen to determine which would work best for both the short term AND long term for your specific needs. No one has more experience with the 350Z platform at all budgetary levels.

Front:
  1. 4-piston, 13" (330x28mm) 1-piece rotor
  2. 4-piston, 13" (330x28mm) 2-piece rotor
  3. 6-piston, 14.25" (362x32mm) 2-piece rotor
  4. Track kit: 6-piston, 14" (355x36mm) 2-piece full-floating rotor
Rear:
  1. 4-piston, 13" (330x25.4mm) 2-piece rotor
  2. Track kit: 4-piston, 13" (330x25.4mm) 2-piece full-floating rotor
In a nutshell, the larger the rotor and the larger the pad surface area, the better heat capacity (at least in theory!). In reality, things can be a little different as efficiencies vary with design and materials used. With the 100+ years of experience AP Racing has with brakes, plus 40 years of professional motorsports at the very highest levels, it's pretty hard to go wrong.

So what did you decide on? I'm in a similar situation as you.

I have this setup and have had no problems. I've done 4 laps on the Nurburgring with the Z (6 total) and countless spirited driving on twisty, German country roads and haven't experienced any brake fade or premature wear on brake components whatsoever. Granted, you can only do one lap at the 'Ring at time, but that's one intense, 12.8 mile lap. I do have Stoptech rotors, HPS pads, and SS brake lines so I'm not too sure whether the basic setup will perform as well when pushed to the absolute limit. If I had the money, I would've went straight to the Brembo 6/4 caliper setup.

13" BBK allow you to run smaller (and somtimes lighter) 17" wheels.

you can also route brake ducting and hoses to help cool down 13" rotors... i suspect 90% of the people here will never overheat a 14" bbk on the track.... 13" kit is very sufficient for most needs.

looks.. well. that's a different story .. Rotor Envy and Piston Envy is ugly.
