Is there any noticebale difference in stopping between the 332 and 355 mm brakes?

Looks like ther is some confusion in here. I'm pretty sure that the 2195 and 2295 prices are for the regular non Trophy Kit, correct Erik?

$2195 front and $2295 rear are the starting prices of the kits and would be the standard red or black calipers with slotted rotors. Sport Trophy kits add $750 to the starting prices of our kits and any kit can we make can be ordered with the Trophy option.

As far as single stop performance, the 332 and 355mm kits be the same, however under heavy or repeated use the 355mm kit will have the advantage as its greater heat capacity will keep the system from going into fade.

The chart at the bottom of this page shows similar stopping distances but noticeable temperature differences as the system gets larger:

Thanks Erik. What is the 'Trophy' kit and what are the benefits?

The Trophy Kit benefit is primarily reduced weight, about 20% less weight per caliper than the standard parts. The anodized finishes on the hats and caliper have no pigment so they won't discolor at high temperature and there's of course the exclusivity of having something other than the more typical red or black painted calipers.

Yet nobody has answered my question.

Can you buy the calipers separately if you already have a stoptech BBK?

I believe that when it comes to brake parts, yes you can buy calipers from another manufacture and add them to another manufacturers rotors, lines, pads etc.

A guy I met at a recetn Z meet is suggesting I go the peice-meal route in order to save money but still have great stopping capability.

1 piece rotors are a way to save some cash, but if you're going to be seriously tracking the car you might want to think about the benefits of a 2 piece.

As far as mixing and matching, that's a gray area. Yes you can do it, but you'll spend a lot of time figuring out what will and won't fit.

Yeah, with one-piece rotors, if they ever get warped or need to be resurfaced (not sure if slotted rotors can be resurfaced), I might need to get rid of the whole rotor, right?

Slotted rotors can be turned, but a lot of shops will tell you they can't. If you have trouble finding a shop to do it local to you, find a machinist. A machine shop can take care of it for sure.

As far as the 1 pc rotors warping is concerned, most of the time when someone claims they've got a warped rotor, it's actually just uneven pad deposits on the rotor. Rotors do warp, but it doesn't cause the pulsating pedal most people claim it does.

Erik answered you

As far as more affordable kits are concerned, our 4 piston 332mm front only kits start at $2195

Do you offer just the calipers?

Replacement calipers are sold separately if needed.

By the way, thanks for the help Erik!
