kw variant 2 + spl mid-link=?
anyone know if the rear spring for the variant 2 setup will fit in the spl mid-link spring seat? I have a set of swifts springs right now but changing my setup and just checking my spring options besides swift. don't want to have to get new springs if the variant ones will work.
guess I should mention that I'm looking into buying the KW2 and do not own them yet (I do already have the spl mid-links on the car) therefore I cannot test this theory. anyone have the ability to test?
I thought as much. It seems from photos of the KW2's that the base of the rear springs appear to be flat. That and the inner diameter of the spring is all I need to know to test it myself but it would be nice if someone has the ability to do it first hand and not by measurements.
I thought the KW v2 came with a progressive rear that is much larger at the bottom. I don't know for sure though.
I am also running the SPL midlink setup with a swift spring. The drawback to using them with the v2's is the damper is not adjustable for length so you won't be able to adjust your droop like is covered in the instructions for the midlinks. I guess you could adjust droop at the midlink but it will be a guessing game a who knows what your ride height will end up like.

So what combo are you using with your swift springs then? i really want to get rid of the factory ecentric bolts but would like to stay with an oem type suspension. I dd my z sometimes, but mostly hit the backroad curves and will be doing track time so something in the kw v2 or v3 range is my goal.

No, only had the Z for 6 months now. Saving up and doing my research so I'm ready when the bank account is. Getting ready do do urethane bushing upgrades/replacements and don't want to replace the factory mid link bushings if I'm going to replace the whole link.

Track, the V3 will likely be a better choice.
But either setup uses a progressive rear spring with a wide rate spread.
EDIT: You cannot use the KW rear spring because the part of their spring that is 65mm ID just like the spl lower seat pan, is actually the top of the KW rear spring. And you can't just flip their spring, part that is ment to sit in the lower control arm wouldn't be flat and not the correct outside diameter.

you also have to take into consideration the height of the spring
the SPL midlinks are designed to take a very standard sized, universal spring with 63.5mm ID. You don't need to use Swift - tons of companies make them - Tein, H&R, Eibach, etc etc etc

The midlinks use a 2.5 ID spring so you would have to measure your KWs. Above is a link to the SPL site. Go to the 350z section and look for the spring calculator. That will help determine the length base on spring rate and desired ride height.
