Default Can you tell me if my Helper Springs are installed correctly

Hey guys,

I am not too familiar with helper springs, but it came with my coilovers. Is this installed correctly? The helper spring is wound up so tight, I doubt it does anything for rebound support. On the website, there are a few pics of the helper spring installed on TOP of the spring, but I got these installed by shane from g35 and hes a reputable guy so not sure which is right. Plz let me know, thanks

it doesnt matter if they are on top of the spring or the bottom, they still compress the spring the same way and the same amount.

If they are fully compressed with preload, you do not need them. Remove them , simple and easy

Does the threaded sleeve go up to the top of where the helper is?

Helpers keep spring preload at desired levels....preventing spring from getting loose and possibly dislodging from perch on UNWEIGHTING suspension. This occurs when tire drops and lifts (or almost does) off the ground. If spring is tight when tire does this (especially with coils that don't require changes in spring load with height adjustments), then helper serves no pupose.

Helpers come into to play big time when you run stiff springs and relatively short travel shocks (and non-shorted more so). I use them because an 8" spring is too short for my motons on full extension. I don't use a rear sway bar most of the time and I pick the front wheel up off the ground quite a bit. This would unseat the spring if I didn't have helpers on. Race springs generally come in 5-8" lengths (though there are more) in 25-50lb intervals.

Pic below shows what I mean:

Would helper springs be good for daily use, as far as comfort and performance? I'm installing the Stance Gr+ Pro with helper springs and will be doing a mild drop. Also helper spring are only for rear correct?

Sorry to thread jack but I think this might help op as well.

They really have no bearing on comfort or performance. You still ride on just the main spring.

So why are vendors and companies making a huge selling point on having these
? I'm having mixed reviews as these are good and others saying they are not?

Sometimes you need them , sometimes you don't . Depends on your spring rate and ride height.
