This is the first car I've ever attempted to DIY. Having an issue that is driving me crazy. Here's the deal:
I have been trying to figure out why part of my rear break pads sit above my rotors. I literally burn approx 3/4 of my pads. The other 1/4 of the pads sit too high. Ive gone to various auto part shops and compared '04 rear rotors to the ones currently installed and they are a perfect match, the calipers also. The car was in a serious accident from the previous owner. I bought it from a dealer a few months ago. The only thing I can think of is that whoever did the repairs pieced parts together that were not '04. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? I think it might be the knuckle that doesn't belong but, I'm not certain. Suggestions?

 

You need 06 and newer rotors. They are bigger
