Raceland Coilovers coming soon.
New to my350z website. I have a 2006 350z. I pre-purchased Raceland Coilovers and I'm expecting them very soon. I'm gonna be using this thread to share my experience with the coilovers set and my install process. Feel free to follow. I've had experience with cheep ebay coilovers to my favorite so far, a set of silkroad coilovers for my old s14. I'm looking forward to the Raceland Coilovers, maybe a best bang for buck suspension mod coming soon.
Coilovers came in and installed them on Wednesday. This isn't gonna be a tutorial but a review on them. If you did have questions on how to install please feel free to ask. (smiley face!).
Here is the coilovers prior to installation.

One side by side, with a factory Nissan shock on Tein S spring. The coilovers height adjustment is based off the fork/bottom of the strut being twisted instead of the perches under the springs. The spring perches are used to set spring rates. The front is pretty straight forward with a replacement of replacement. The factory rear suspension spring is separate from the shock. With the new Raceland coilover you no longer use the stock spring area and it's all combined in the place of where you put the rear shock.
Front.

And rear.

Here's some instructions, warnings and perch wrenches.

Installed in the front.

Rear prior to install with separate spring and shock.

All gone and Raceland rear coilover installed.

Before, Tein S Springs(08inch front, 0.7inch rear)

After, Raceland Coilovers(an extra 0.4inch front, 0.6inch rear)

I'm happy with my purchase so far, no problems found with the install. Ride is much firmer then before... better feel of the road and response. I do like that I have coilovers now so I can lower it even more for shows. I'll throw in more updates as time goes by and I wear them in.

As far as "firm" ride goes, what did you have the dampening settings set to? What are the spring rate?
UPDATE: Nvm, I researched and found the answer here: http://www.racelandus.com/coilovers/...coilovers.html
12kg f and 7kg r seems a bit off, I'd imagine a 10kg f would be better suited for the 7kg rear being that it is a true coilover set up.

Just looking at them they look a lot better than the MDU's....how do they perform under spirited driving? What's the dampening set at on yours? *i guess they don't have adjustable dampening*

For forsee something similiar to this in your future..... Cereal is your car, raceland is the milk....

Dude, they couldn't even weld the nut to the bottom mounting point the way it should be?

You actually don't want the nut welded. If you strip the threads then just cut and replace the hardware. If the nut is welded to the lower assembly and strip the threads.....New lower assembly
i've always been told to stay away from raceland. I don't think i've ever read a good thing about them, until now i guess. that's a great price for true coils, but wouldn't i be better off saving for the real thing instead of the bang for your buck?
it's a legitimate question, i'm not trying to bash on raceland. i just want to do this car right (for once)

Lol you won't find any love from the people on here. If you don't have $5000 suspension with $10000 wheels on a $5000 car you'll get made fun of.. but all honesty $500 for a true coil over setup is awesome. Lots of people on stance and stuff run mdu they love those Chinese things. Now not everyone uses their car for the same thing. Sometimes it is just about going low not everyone tracks their car geeze get over it plain and simple you can sell a swapped civic easier and for more than our 350zs. Sad but true. I want to lower about 1.5" and don't want to worry about the uneven settling of just a spring so these race lands will be going on. 2 year warranty. $500 and covered for 2 years I'm down. You can't just sell something in america if its dangerous. I'm sure its up to OE standards know lots of vw people that had them for years. Bouncy ride? That's the biggest complaint. My last z was an 03. Ever drive one? If you did you know why they changed the suspension in 04. Ask my wife she used to have hold her **** driving down the highway.
