Default Rear left brake stuck

Hello everyone,

Yesterday I was driving my 2003 350z and felt a weird wobble feeling. At first I thought it might had been a puncture, but when I pulled over I quickly noticed the radiating heat and smoke coming from the left wheel.

Went on to lift the car up as a quick test, and noticed i could barely turn around the wheel, as if the brake was stuck, but it still allowed me to turn the wheel (but had to use alot of force).

Anyone experienced this before? Might it just be as simple as re-adjusting the brake caliper and/or replace it?

Thanks in advance,
Best regards Smailey

I just got this fixed. Brake Caliper is stuck. Hopefully you caught this early enough that you won't have to replace the rotor and pad!

Same thing happened to mine a few months ago. Caliper was frozen solid and had to buy a new caliper.

i took off the caliper and removed the piston. there was a bunch of debris that jammed up the piston. so i cleaned it up and put it back together. works good now.

oh, there is a hole in the rubber sleeve, thats how the crap got in there. but it will last till i get the rear akebono kit to compliment the fronts.

Had this happen to me as well and also did as explained above. I had a hole in the boot as well. I also gave a little honing for good measure. You can get a rebuild kit for cheap, and the process isn't too bad at all.

You may have already known, but here's a pretty resilient c-clip holding the boot in place. Luckily the rebuild kits come with new boots and clips.
