Front Brembos with Rear Akebonos calipers
Well I always thought it may come to this but my brembo rear calipers are done for and I really dont want to put the money into them. So, with that said I was thinking about switching to the Akebonos in the rear and still keeping my front calipers because they are in great condition. Has anyone done so or have thoughts about this.... Its really hard to find a good used set of rear brembos but tons of Akebonos out in the market place. I really do not want to change the fronts because of money I have invested...( raybesto st-45 racing pads, cryo-stop rotors) i have the same in the rear but they are done so I have to except it!!
Spend the $30 or so, and rebuild kits so simple to rebuild. If you are dead set of getting rid of them, I'll buy then and hook one of my friends up with rear brembo's
I just may....I'll shoot you a pm with info, now to you and everyone else ... If I go with the Akebonos in the rear will it change bias or will the rear just run cooler...??

The Brembo package was designed to work together. I'd think long and hard before adding a larger rear caliper and rotor to your existing Brembo fronts. Rear biased braking systems on a front-engine car do not work well.
OP rebuild the rears, it doesnt cost much like Terra said and the time to do it isnt anything more than a day. Just google "350z rear brembo caliper repair kit" and you will find them.
Thanks for the input but I'm just not sure I want to go that way. It is the least costly but Brembo's are becoming few to non these days... I may want to really consider the akebonos
I can understand where your coming from, but that is an oem part, they will never stop making the kits for another 10-15 years at the most, by that time i dont think you will have your Z and if you do you will have rebuilt it with other parts.
