Default 350z vs.Coilovers

Ok, so Ive decided to use a little extra cash I got to upgrade my suspension. Ill be doing coilovers and probably Hotchkis sways.

The question I have is about coilovers. I found a good deal on Tanabe Sustec Pro Z40's. The part TSE4073 says its for a G35 and TSE 4063 is for the 350z...most of the coilovers Ive been looking at seem to be for both vehicles, why would the Tanabe be specific for a G35 or 350z? Id like to get them because its a pretty sweet deal....

I did contact them. Wasnt very much help though. All he said was since they are different part numbers they are not compatible. Doesnt make sense to me though, since almost all the ones Ive looked at are for 350z or G35. I dont want to make a mistake buying them since I wont be able to return them.

Have you tried contacting any reputable aftermarket part vendors that sell those specific models?

Honestly I can't name name any off of the top of my head that sell those but I'm sure they'd have that info and more dedicated customer service depts.

What's your budget? And what will your Z be used for (DD/stance/track/drift/etc.)?

The Tanabes were 1150.00. I just want to lower it a little more than the Tein springs I have now. Its a DD and no racing or track of any kind.

If you're willing to spend the extra money (~$1400) I'd suggest either Feal or PBM (Parts By Max).

Although Feal Suspenion's components are manufactured in China their coilovers are assembled domestically in SoCal and the CEO is a reputable drifter/racer, Aurimas "Odi" Bakchis.

PBM (also Chinese-made) is more for people who have no care about comfort. These coilovers go extremely low and have very stiff valving. Many enthusiasts use PBM for drifting or static-slammed vehicles.

If you've been on this forum for more than a week I'm sure you know most hate BC Racing/Megan Racing for their poor quality...

Stance USA is also a company that's commonly categorized with BC Racing/Megan Racing, but imho they have a perfect "budget" coilover for a simple DD that sees no hard track use (also Chinese components assembled domestically like Feal). If you're set on spending ~$1000 I can PM you info of someone who helped me with a great price on my Stance Pro Comp 2-way track coil system purchase.

Shoot me an offer on my tein monoflex if you're interested in a high quality (albeit stiff) suspension...
