Ok so I've been a member for a long time here and have made decent research on this topic but haven't found any direct answers to my problem.

My 350Z 2005 Base 50K miles. It has started making a funny noise on the drivers rear calliper every time I hit the break pedal but softly. When I brake hard it doesn't do the funny sound. Sound is not from bad disc or pads, since disc have like 8 months on the car and pads have been changed twice guessing that was the problem which was NOT.

When I first got the car, one rainy night it slided into a walkway (like a drift), broke my rear driver wheel and bend the front one. Defenitely bent the chassis a little because when you look from the rear of the car, it looks like a little bit tipped to one side (lower on the impact side than the passenger side). My car DOES NOT have suspension or coilovers. After that, I also changed my rear drivers side WHEEL BEARING with Timken FTW, (NOT THE HUB THAT GRABS THE WHEEL). I RE-USED THE OLD ONE WHEEL HUB.

So this is where I need your help guys… Since my car started making that noise again, I jacked it up from the rear and put it in first. My passengers side wheel rotated perfectly but my drivers side wheel has like a little dance. I know that the dance in the wheel could be a bent wheel but that doesn't explain the braking noise. I'm guessing it could be that when the car impact from the side, it bent the wheel hub a little??? Also, I'm guessing if could be a bent axle or just the tip that got bent??? When I took my axle out, just after the teeth that go into the hub, there is a circular metal ring which you grease when re-installing. The ring was perfectly curved except for a tiny piece that was bent inward (going into differential direction). I think that the impact did that but what to guess could be defective????

I'm on the process of fixing this and would like to know what you guys thing the problem could be. Also, changed my brake fluid to motul rbf600, and just after that, my passenger side caliper had to be changed because it locked up. Could it possibly also be the calliper? I know that if I change only the calliper, it will get damaged overtime because if I have a disc rotating inconsistently, that will make extra pressure on my calliper every time I brake.

Please reply with something useful and not stupid comments. All work done in my car I do it myself (i'm not a professional mechanic) and not afraid to get dirty. Thanks!

The funny noise is found on youtube and it is like if my disc was warped or something because only on a certain part of it is when the noise becomes audible.

I just discovered (and cured) my engine rattle that has puzzled quite a few people. If you have a plenum spacer or a Kinetix V+ plenum, check the hex screws that secure your engine cover. The driver's side screw is actually directly under the strut bar and the raised plenum was causing that screw to "tap" and "rattle" against the bottom of the strut bar. Even with the supplied spacer washers that came with the plenum, it was still making contact on just that side. Just something to consider and check.

Ya here are two ideas, make sure your ebrake is fully releasing and check your wheel bearing. I would take the caliper and rotor off and spin the wheel bearing manually. If it even has the slightest grinding noise- there you go. If not, it kind of sounds like the spring in the ebrake in the video you posted. So make sure that is fully releasing off the hub

Sorry to jack your thread but i have the same noise as the video, is this just a matter of adjusting the e-brake cable to get rid of the noise?

I posted previously ASSUMING you have newer brake pads or checked them to make sure they have a lot of meat remaining...You can inspect the pads calipers (making sure they can be compressed manually), ebrake, etc and report back

That ticking noise sounds like the rear axle bearings. It was an extremely common problem in the earlier year 350s. As a matter of fact, my 2003 still does it...
