Hey Guys,

I was wondering if anyone can help me with an issue I am having. So when I am driving the car, it feels like the rear end of the car sways to one side, it feels as the car isnt in sync. I have a suspension work as far as Bc Racing coilovers, Spc Camber kits, and a strut bar. If anyone have any idea what the issue is please leave a message!!

 

when did you work on the suspension?

 

you need a corner balance and or endlinks.......what it sounds like to me

Could be as simple as camber out of whack.

 

If anything alignment wise, it would more than likely be toe more so than camber

 

Yup, that would be my #1 thought, second is camber, high camber causes a car to track odd on the street . Of course this is after I looked at all the bushings.

 

I had the exact same issue and mine was resolved when I removed the aftermarket Kinetix rear camber arms. The stock OEM rear camber arms have almost solid bushings and I am sure there is a reason for that. The after market Kinetix camber arms bushings were a lot softer and not to mention after a couple months had slop in them....complete junk.

Ok, I am experiencing this problem as well.

I have hotchki's sways, SPL end links and a rear poly bushing.

I recently had both left and rear bearings replaced, so I can rule that out.

I did put on new tires on the rear which are of much lesser quality due to being out of work and needing a cheap replacement.

Would the tires be causing the rear wiggle in a straight line? Can't imagine it is suspension related with my set up?

Thoughts?

 

i would start by just double checking the rear bearings... really easy, just take rotor off and feel for play. in my case, the first time around, i didn't torque the axle nuts down enough and the bearing was trashed in a week and the same "wiggle" came back.

but it also could be your tires.. make sure they're not directional and facing the wrong way, etc etc... also, check your LCA bushings in the front (and while you're under there, check for any other bushings, and make sure EVERYTHING is tightened down good)

double check your suspension as well.

hope you figure it out, it was the biggest headache i went through with this car. was so close to selling it haha

 

not the rear alignment either.. Just went to sears and the rear is in spec. Front is not as I don't have camber arms.

Not sure what it could be.. Would tightening the rear sway setting help? It is currently on the middle setting in the rear.

 

I had a similar feeling I'd go around twisty roads it turned out my accentric bolt was loose in the rear

 

My alignment was all in spec as well, I checked it many times myself on our Hunter machine at work as I was diagnosing my issue with the sway feel.

Do you have rear camber arms? Have you checked the bushings on all of the rear arms, as in taking the arms off and inspecting carefully. That is how I found my issue.

 

check transverse link and compression arm bushings...

i wrote about this "similar" issue somewhere.....

not saying some of the other mentioned theories are wrong, just saying to check them...based on what you gave us, its really impossible for anyone of us to diagnose...

I still seem to think it has to do with the tires, but I am probably wrong.
