Default Broke a strut mount stud -_-

So, I'm not sure if anyone has had this happen to them with this particular set of coilovers but I have the Megan Street coils (it has a spring in the bucket) and I was installing them today and misread the torque spec on them from the manual and one of the studs snapped off.

Does anyone know if the Megan studs can be replaced? If they are replaceable are they pressed in or are they screwed in? Also the stud size would be helpful as well.

And how safe is it to drive with only 2 nuts on one of the struts? The other half of the stud that is still attached to the strut is about flush with the hole so a good portion of the stud is still in the strut mount hole.

Thanks in advance.

Not at all safe with two studs, especially since it seems like they're made of silly putty. Take the shock assembly out and see what you can do to fix it properly.

Probably not safe, but I would still drive the car. We do have an upper control arm so there is not as much force on them the answers you want, just look at it, open your eyes, be a man and figure it out. What do the other 2 studs look like? Do the have a way to unthread the if they are threaded, (I bet the are pressed ) can Megan answer the question ? Will a bolt work for now (probably)

Thanks guy. I've emailed Megan yesterday, but they're closed until Monday. I looked at the other strut after I broke the stud and it looks pressed in just wanted some reassurance.

So, I got the stud out. It was easy just need a hammer and punch. I've been looking for a replacement stud for a few days and no hardware/autoparts store as it. I have a bolt and nut in place of it for now.

If anyone has any idea of where I can get this stud, which is m8x1.25 approximately 25mm long, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks

McMaster-Carr or similar supply house?
Look for a comparable wheel stud?
Ebay/Internet power/etc?

You nut and bolt is probably just fine...the torque specs on those nuts are super low.

Yeah, I've looked every where but the nut and bolt is probably fine. If I happen to run into one I'll replace it if not I'll probably be ok. Thanks for the suggestions though.

your talking about the front right, because you talk about it having the bolt broken in the coilover, so the front coilovers have 3 in the coilover, rear studs are welded to the cars unibody..... and you say two are left.....so front has 3 total, rear has two, so front.

That being said: read post 16 by beta:
