Default new suspension installed review

Well I put a set of b8 bilstein shocks/struts with some nismo springs, hotchkis sway bars set on hole one front and back, and power grid end links. On my car the other day. 08 350z. Initial impressions are it rides pretty much like stock, just a little more bouncy, and less harsh. Un-like the stock suspension did at 52k. Car has way less body roll and is way tighter in the corners. It had a squeak in the rear before that is gone now. Front might sit a hare lower and back sits a hair higher I have a set of cut bump stops I might put on when I get some free time. Just an average enthusiast not a pro driver or anything.

Your setup is similar to what I recently put on my 350z. I really like the Bilstein shocks.

Every time I see a mention of Bilstein B8s, Spike comes to mind.

By the way, Spike, will be doing a quickie write up soon comparing between my long winded Koni-and-Bilstein-comparison review in the "street suspension thread" placed side-by-side with stock Z33 Nismo set up (the Yamaha suspension). Ought to be some fun gathering empirical data.

And then maybe some sort of comparo with Z34 Nismo suspension. (If my wife ever lets me have her car keys. )

What a great combo, much better than the "coilovers " most people are buying

I agree that a good set of shocks/springs is better than going with a cheaper coilover route.

I'll be watching for your write up. Your recent messages have been interesting and fun to read, and they contain valuable and accurate information.

Thanks, Spike. Just wrote it up on the street suspension (you were OP) thread here since it compares Nismo to the previously reviewed Koni and Bilstein set ups.
