Default more brake problems!!!

okay so this is getting wrose. I was going fast with a Camaro today and had to make a really quick stop going from about 100 to zero relatively fast but not extreamly quick. I parked my car and smelled burning from the brakes that wasn't tires and I could hear the metal making a tick tick tick sound when metal gets really hot. im gonna scdudele a mantainance at village nissian in markham but since its the weekend ill have to wait till the weekday next week. should I not drive my car till I get a service. everything seems fine. I was able to still stop safely while going at high speeds.

anyways I made 2 other threads previously but now a new problem of a burning smell as arrised. I can tell its not burning rubber. something else is burning.

I went to the gas station and took a hose to spray down my brakes n rotor with water after but im afraid some srs damage is done already.

Hard braking from high speeds will generate a LOT of heat. The spinning motion of the rotors gets rid of that heat...but... if you bring the car to a complete stop before allowing time for the brakes to cool, you may get "heat soak". If it gets really hot, you can even boil your brake fluid at the calipers.

However, in this case, it sounds like your brakes just got real hot. (The smell when that happens)

That clunking sound, from your other thread, is another matter.

Not a 100 Miles!!! sorry I meant 100 km on a 80 km road. pretty normal for mosts actually to go at that speed here.

the brakes a perfectly fine when I need them to stop. its just actually really strange. when I release pressure on the brakes and let it move slowly while still stepping on the brakes lightly I can hear the brakes popping up and gripping the rotor and popping up and gripping the motor.

Do you have slotted or drilled rotors? They can sometimes make some noises that can be a little bothersome.

nope. they are just stock. stock rotors stock brakes. im starting to conclude that the brakes aren't getting the best grip on the rotors

okay so I isolated the burning smell to one of the brakes / rotor / something on the front left side. its definity not rubber or anything I smelled before. kind of smells like a plastic type of burn smell.

I recently sprayed rust proofing on my rotors, brakes, under body, everywhere with exposed metal. could that be the reason I smell burning. its been a couple days now

I made a stop faster than I wanted to from 155mph on the OEM 04 brakes. The rotors were a nice pretty blue the next morning when I went outside. They still worked fine and I drove with them for 2-3 years after that.

I did some research and a seized brake caliper could cause this issue. of a burning smell. still doesn't explan the thud sounds I got when I apply and release brakes.

Alright Jonny, just drive you car for the next week or two, do not spray anything on it. Just drive, before and after driving, do some reading , read how brakes work, learn about oil pressure , keep reading. After 2 weeks , post once again about possible problems if you can't find info about it in a search
