Default Bracket bolt lvl is over 9000.

Trying to take caliper/brackets off to replace the whole brake. I've used pb blaster. I twisted my 3/8" extension because of how hard I torqued it and the bolt didn't even move. I went out and got 1/2" drive. Used the breaker bar with pb blaster. Still didn't budge. I've looked on here for answers and different forums too. But the answers are hit and miss. What is the absolute way to get the bracket bolt off? I understand it's suppose to be a PITA.

Get a 4-5 FOOT pipe to fit over the breaker bar. Turn the wheel all the way Right or Left to give you room to maneuver it outside the fenderwell. Slowly loosen lest you strip the bolt head.

If that doesn't work, you might have to take it to a shop that has the proper impact tools to loosen it (or invest in your own).

Good luck!

You'll need to have the car high up enough to wield a pipe. Or use a shorter pipe.... the 30" (might not even be that long...) pipe I keep in my tool chest has never failed me but way back in the day, did need to resort to a bigger one (stop, guys) to free up some tough suspension bolts.

I used my 1/2" breaker bar, PB Blaster soaked overnight, and some propane torch heat. I actually had to use one of my feet to push the breaker bar, though, and that did the trick. It was a major b!tch, and much harder than the fronts because of the restricted space from working on jack stands.

Thanks for the tips. I finally got the front bracket bolts off by using a jack lift, and positioning my 1/2" breaker bar ontop of the lift. Then slowly pump the lift up>pushes breaker bar up. It took the whole car's weight to get the bolt loose lol

Smart and innovative. My luck though, the jack would slip and the breaker bar gets propelled into a fender. Heh heh..... and yes, I've done something similar to that travesty many many moons ago.

Please don't ask.
