Question Why no 350 brake duct cooling kits?

I've been searching for a while now and noticed there isn't a brake duct kit for the 350z. There's kits for many other cars, including the 370 but not one company has put together one for the 350.

I realize it's not very hard to do or to put together a kit of your own, but it would be nice just to go to one place and be done.

In the aftermarket its tough with kits that can easily pieced together, like oil cooler kits, with very few proprietary pieces. They can easily be copied for cheaper and the race to the bottom begins. The electronic Roo-ducts are still available, though I have no personal experience with them.

Yeah not surprising since it was a 100% custom piece...you can still call NissanRaceShop at Fontana, but theyll tell you to just keep your eye online for a used set. Last I spoke they confirmed the molds were sold some time ago. But these arent really that hard to fab...they may not look quite as nice but laying something up should be pretty easy.

The problem is cost...carbon isnt cheap. I tested some plastic ducts of similar design that Randy of Rooducts made for me. They melted as he said they would, but he wanted to test some high temp plastic. In fact they held up surprisingly well, and with a little insulation should hold up.

There are also a lot of people/shops making some nice things ive seen on social media. Full cf pieces that replace the stock heat shield. Though I dont believe keeping the heat/dust shield is necessary (except for ABS sensor clearance), and Ive mounted 2.5in ducts straight to the spindle with surprisingly good results, which isnt optimal but is essentially free.

Yeah, I've been kicking around the idea of building a set for a while, just haven't gotten around to pulling the bumper and figuring our the routing et al. In a naive state of i-don't-know-what-im-doing-ness I cut up my old rev-up airbox so I could fit a cone filter but retain the factory ram-air, so I have one large velocity stack that I was going to use as an inlet, the problem now is I don't want to cut up another rev-up airbox seeing as the actually hold some value, so I'll have to use a mis-matched set. I don't think the stacks will make much difference since the air has to flow through flex tubing anyways, but aesthetically I wanted to have.. *ahem* .. two fat stacks.

Definitely seems like some work. Heres a pic of the bootleg fix after those ducts melted. It was pretty rushed, but surprisingly they held up without issue. You can see where I tapped the knuckle to fasten the ducts normally.
