Default K frame removal

I am replacing a 2006 350z lower front control arm that is bolted through the k-frame- I assume I must drop the k-frame to remove cracked in half front lower rear control arm. Does the k-frame simply unbolt and drop to ground and then installed in reverse, I want to make sure no engine or other support is required.

Exactly! Trying to replace the passenger control arm as shown too- my interpretation is that the k-frame needs to be dropped- what are you referring to as "compression arms" - this is a in my driveway now- is the control arm going to be the SOB or is the k-frame going to be the SOB?

Cool cool, the support brace isn't bad, getting the compression arms off can be tricky.

Is it a brut force move or is there a tool to facilitate getting the **** off? I got big flat head and a hammer, most all other nuts and bolts have required the application of a breaker bar. I just need to do the drivers side on the frame then arm time.

I used an impact in all the bolts, if you break one of those pins its game over for your car.

If your sleeve is melded itself to the pin its a matter of cutting the slee

ve off. I used a 3 jaw puller and it worked out well.

Im going to guess do to your location that you probably shouldn't have much trouble unless your car has 200k miles on it.

If you don't have a puller you could remove your tie rod end and then pull out the ball joint from the compression arm then pull it out and work it back and forth.

Thanks so much! Reassembly commences tonight-old arm off- new arm on and one nut holding up frame. I cracked the the spindle in half so there was plenty of room to remove/wiggle arm off.

Rim took the brunt- bent strut - spindle snapped at upper control arm, sway bar end link busted, busted brake line - need new rim, fender and door and I will have recovered from this misfortune.
