i know there are a ton of threads but its always good to start another one just incase new people have something to say or old people have good/bad updates

please state which pads you have (front/back)

and also how they are for dust, stopping power, squealing, wear

Hawk HP+ up front and HPS in the rear.

The front dust about as much as stock, the rear about 1/2 as much. Go to RaceShopper for great prices. The HP+ is an agressive street pad so it will squeal just a little if you're going slow and are riding the brakes or if it's hot.

But they are perfect for AutoX. I expected them to be even better once the R compounds are purchased. Stopping power is quite impressive. Many who've driven or riden in the car comment first on the brakes before anything else.

If you've not looking for that extra performance then HPS front and rear would be good.

I just recently put Hawk HPS's front and rear adn I love em!
They just "feel" better than stock. You don't get nearly as much dust and they don't grab hard when you first push on the petal.
The only bad thing I can say about them is when cold, they don't grab very hard so the first few minutes of driving you need to be a bit more careful. Backing out of the drive way in the morning requires more pressure on the brakes than you use with the OEM's.

I 've hear that the HP+'s are harder on the rotors, which are expensive to replace. If you are going to the track alot, the HP+'s are a good pad. If you are driving on the street mostly, you'll probably want the HPS's.

I run Carbotech BobCat on all 4. NO noise, VERY low dusting (I would say no dust, but that is not possible), excellent stopping power. Much better than stock. One of the best out there if you can find them.

I use Carbotech Panther on the track and love them . . .I would run them on the street but they are very noisy and dust as bad as stock.

IMO, the HPS is the best all around street pad for the 350Z to meet most peoples needs on a day to day basis. They are lower dust, don't squeak much, good bite, decent rotor wear.

We typically receommend Axxis Ultimate, but they aren't available yet in the proper shape for the Z.

I have had myself on my Z for about 3 weeks now and wow I do have to say there is not that much dust and braking has improved.

How long have you had them on. I've seen posts from people who say they love the Hawk HPS, but others that say wait a bit and they will sqeal like crazy (and they don't recommend them).

I also have my HPS pads on for about 2 weeks. No squeak. No dust and love the performance. IMO the best MOD for the lowest price.

they are ceramic and supposedly thats bad for squeal

but carbotech are also ceramic

thing is with brake pads they are a wear item. So if you don't like them just change them. It's not like changing out suspension which cost significantly more.

If you want some thing that bites good and you don't care about the dusting... Hawk Plus+

Or even the Axxis Metal Masters

The HAWK HPS pads are good for daily driving low dust and good bite.

Really it comes down to what you are looking for.

What's the price on HPS front and rears? I'm thinking about replacing them after I almost hit a dog on the Interstate in Dallas. The dang thing jumped out from in front of a semi.

the hawk street pads squeek. im never buying them again. my friend has the same problem on his z. plus we still get break dust, although quite a bit less. apparently theyre just not meant for hard driving
