For anybody that thinks the McMasters collars are unnecessary..THINK AGAIN. I had installed my Hotchkis sways and ran on them for a month or two. Besides daily driving, I AutoX'ed it a couple times. When I finally got around to putting the collars in, I actually had to loosen up the mounting bolts to readjust the front bar, just to get the collars on...

Use a marine grease. I have used this on my Hotchkis and it does not come off, It is used to lubricate boat props and will stand the test of time agains the eliments. Any auto supply should have it as well as Marine Stores.
Good luck

does anyone think that these collars are actually having a bigger effect on the swaybar then just not making it move. if ur putting the collar on the bar, its kinda like having two seperate bars. its really tightening up the bar, and not using the whole bar. Hence making an already stiff swaybar, that much stiffer? Am i over thinking here?

Are those collars unique to mcmasters? They are a long way from here, and i'd rather not wait on shipping.
basically where else might I be able to find collars so I don't have to wait on shipping?

On another note, this thread is probably moot now that Hotchkis decided to include collars with their new bars.

Zillinois - Thanks for your help! I have had the collars on for a few months now and they work perfect! And you are right - my front had moved over 3 inches or so and it on mine, it seemed to be binding.
