The trick is to make them want your business. I went in with no intention to buy, just wanted to look. Then they offered a test drive. Then it was, "we won't take no for an answer" and then the sticker price went down to 26,100.

"Sticker" + tax, title, fees, dealer garbage = OTD...

IMHO the OTD number is what counts...

This is my first post and it is my first Z car. I bought my 2005 base coupe black on black OTD for $28,250 = tax, tag, and title. Rear spoiler, key colored mud guards, floor mats, rear hatch floor mat, and kick plates were the only add ons. I'm guessing that I got it for somewhere around 26k and some change.

In early 2004 it was hard to find a Z, much less get a deal on it. In my area all the dealers were asking $1800 to $3500 over sticker. I found mine sitting on a lot 2 hours away, got 10% off MSRP and felt good about it. Now that there are more and more of them available, folks can make a better deal. And it's amazing how much they depreciate in a year. For those that may be lurking out there and wanting to get a good deal, don't pass up a slightly used one. The warranty can be transferred, I believe, and the prices will be very reasonable.

But in 2004 I wanted a Daytona Blue 6MT, Track and I got one. Besides, it's only money and ya can't take it with you. Besides, the wife says that this car will double as my coffin. <G>
