The prices dont go down fast, you can ask for 26-27k easy.
The thing is that the buyer will think that if they throw in another 3-4k they can get a new one...do you see what im trying to say?..lol

https://my350z.com/forum/2003-2009-nissan-350z/122571-cbs-news-story-350z-class-action-lawsuit.html
That will explain why 350Z's are so cheap right now.

All 350Z's (2003, 2004 & 2005) have suspension and alignment defects.
A class action lawsuit has been filed against Nissan for the defective front tires and alignment system that causes premature and irregular tire wear, "tire feathering," and "tire roar" in the 2003, 2004 and 2005 Nissan 350Z. On October 1, 2004, in the California Superior Court for Los Angeles County, a class action lawsuit was filed on behalf of all 2003, 2004 and 2005 Nissan 350Z owners and lessees nationwide (Paul Doty v. Nissan North American, Inc., Case No. BC322435).
The complaint alleges that these vehicles suffer from suspension and alignment defects that result in premature wear, feathering, and cupping of the front tires, resulting in "an extremely loud tire roar or tire growl, especially when the vehicle is braking, traveling on a smooth road surfaces or cruising at speeds of 30 mph or less." In addition, the complaint charges that Nissan 350z owners and lessees have been forced to replace their front tires and service their vehicle's front-end alignment more often than is reasonably expected.

I was going to buy new, but decided that for what you get, the G35 is the way to go (about $1200 more expensive but you get sunroof, extra year warranty, free loaner, back seat, 19s, nicer interior). But the Z depreciates faster, so if you buy used the Z is the way to go. 2003 G35Cs are only a few grand cheaper than new ones. I got my 5AT Touring Z for $24.5K with only 10,800 miles on it. Brand new it would have cost $36K at MSRP with al the options I have (leather/side impact/nav/mud flaps/aero pkg).

I doubt very much you are seeing '04 Enthusiasts for $20K, unless its got VERY high miles and/or rebuilt title. That other poster said he paid $25K for an '03, not '04. so I'm not sure why you jumped on that as an example.
The depreciation isn't really bad (do we REALLY need another thread talking about tire feathering, people??). Take a look at many many other cars on the market that get hit with more than 50% depreciation in the first 36 months, and you'll see what I'm talking about. Heck, you want to complain about depreciation to someone who buys a new Lincoln LS and loses 40% in the first year?

I'm sure it varies depending where you live. In San Diego dealserships are not willing to negotiate. They offered me 27,500 for the 05 Base. And that was the best I got from SD dealerships in a span of a week. I still think I paid too much but I was able to get the 05 base for 25,600 an hour and a half north of SD.

So if you got it real cheap, I assume you bought it after the rebuild, right? I guess you didn't get a carfax before you bought it?
Definitely don't plan on making money on the deal unless you want to lie and try to rip someone off by not disclosing its history.
